  • In 10/07, NYSDOT arbitrarily rejected the proposals for the Merritt/Hutch interchange made by Greenwich and Rye Brook. Rye Assemblyman Latimer is trying to arrange a resumption of the dialogue with NYSDOT.

  • Greenwich Traffic Engineering is working on a suggestion by Mr. Giovanni Nasso of Stonehedge North to make egress from that street easier by moving the southbound stop line on King Street. It appears the stop line, if relocated, would be farther from the signals than Federal standards permit. An alternative "all red" phase combined with pedestrian crosswalks may achieve an acceptable result. More to come...

  • Shemin Nursery is proposing to subdivide its property to create several single family plots, east of the nursery, with an access road to Sherwood Avenue. Any construction will add impervious surfaces to the area and potentially aggravate the existing downstream silting problems on Hettiefred and Heather. Shemin's application will be heard by P&Z on Tuesday evening, 5/20, and perhaps by Inland Wetlands on Monday evening, 5/19.

  • The new owners of Reckson Executive Park have notified the Village of Rye Brook of their interest in using an existing approval to build additional office space. New construction is also likely on the southeast corner of Anderson Hill Road & King Street where 31 upscale condos are expected to be built on vacant land where a hotel had once been planned.

  • The airport is expected to issue a new draft environmental impact statement for deicing facilities in place of a now withdrawn plan to build such a facility on 10 wooded acres on the Greenwich border. The new plan is not expected to encroach on the woods.
